I know that many of your are busy and have little time for yourselves. I will try not to take up too much of it. This blog is mostly about the things that matter to my family, and many others who are trying to survive in this crazy world. I do not claim to have any answers, but I will tell it like it is.
A little background is in order. I grew up in a small town in the middle of the Mohave desert. There wasn't much to do there, and by the time I graduated, I swore I would never live in a small desert town again. So i joined the Army and left. Eventually, after getting out of government service, I moved to the middle of the country where the beer drinkers are ony rivaled by the cheese heads. Fast forward twenty years.
I am married, have four beautiful children, a loving husband, and am once again living in a small desert town. Do I love it here? No. Will I survive? Only time will tell.
Memorial Day weekend is here. I have no plans, and my husband is working. Our oldest has gone off camping with her friends for the weekend, and so our youngest, Ana, and I are going to sit here and paint our nails. It's not often that I spend one on one time with my daughter, so I plan on planting the flower seeds that she got me for Mother's Day, and kind of just dedicating this weekend to hanging out with her. Maybe we will go hang out in Home Depot for a while, or something.
That's the problem with small towns. Despite their quaintness, there really isn't much else to do. Example: we have Walmart, JCP, Ross, Joann fabrics, and four grocery stores. Throw in a bunch of casinos and hotels and you have my town.
I hope you all have a wonderful and safe weekend.
Ava
